WHY IS MUSIC THEORY IMPORTANT (AND NOT BORING)?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

When we hear the phrase Music<\/strong> Theory<\/strong>, many people think of boring hours of writing charts, finding quint circles and learning the rules. In our private<\/strong> Music<\/strong> school<\/strong> we are aware that music theory is important<\/strong>, but always adapted from<\/strong> to the individual - both in terms of quantity and the way it is interpreted. For younger children, it is introduced through play and practice; for older children, it is linked to what they play. We always take into account the pupil's prior knowledge, age and goals, so that theory does not become a burden, but a tool for understanding music. We don't overdo it, but we don't leave it out - because it is theory that helps the pupil to play not only with the fingers, but also with the head and the heart.\n <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

      Many people still believe that music theory stifles creativity - that it sets rules and boundaries within which there is no room for expression. But the opposite is true.
